Who Are Case Managers?

Case managers - key decision-makers. Case managers influence patient referrals for many services, including homecare, rehabilitation, long-term care and behavioral health. Increasingly, case managers are becoming key decision-makers in selecting providers for managed care contracts.

Despite their growing influence, case managers can be hard to reach. They work in varied settings - HMOs, big insurance companies, national case management firms, small local practices, etc. Often, they're located hundreds of miles away from the patients they serve. The Case Manager Database from Dorland Healthcare Information offers the comprehensive, current, and detailed data needed to reach this growing market.

Why the Dorland Case Manager Database is unique. With a rapidly moving field like case management, it's easy to get confused about what a mailing list or database really contains. Available since 1990, here's what makes the Case Manager Database (CMD) unique in the industry:

  • Active case managers. Many "case manager" lists contain many names of people who market to case managers or who don't really do case management. CMD entries are restricted to confirmed, active case managers.
  • Payer-based case managers. The CMD offers by far the most comprehensive list of case managers based in payer organizations -- insurers, HMOs, PPOs and case management firms that work for payers.
  • Provider-based case managers. With the CMD, you can select case managers working in homecare, hospital, or other specialty provider settings.
  • Clinical specialty data. Many of CMD entries include data on clinical specialty that can be used to select only appropriate recipients for your message.
  • Job function data. The CMD identifies which case managers are the supervisors in their office.
